Role Overview: Hedge Fund Accountant
As a Hedge Fund Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounting and operational processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Trade Settlement: Monitor and verify that all trades settle correctly and promptly, working closely with counterparties and service providers.
- Shadow Accounting: Update and maintain the firm's shadow accounting system daily to ensure alignment with the fund administrator's records; work with the Accounting Manager to review and approve entries.
- Report Review: Perform in-depth reviews of monthly accounting reports and investor statements prepared by the fund administrator, ensuring accuracy before distribution.
- Cash Flow Management: Track and reconcile daily cash flows across various accounts.
- Operational Support: Assist in trade lifecycle processes, including settlement, corporate actions, and account reconciliations.
- Collaboration: Provide accounting and operational support to portfolio managers and investor relations teams.
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in trade operations, accounting, or a related field (experience in hedge funds or financial services is a plus).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of shadow accounting systems or financial software is a bonus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
